history
American Communications Partners is a partnership between Joseph and Laura Tito and was originally
associated with J.N. Wells & Company, Inc. of Oak Brook, IL in 1986. The Wells Company was a boutique brokerage house
specializing in various broadcasting and banking businesses with a primary focus in Daily Newspapers, network Television
Stations and Cable TV.
From our founding in 1986 through the end of the decade, we specialized in the hospitality industry putting deals together for
hotel and motel owners. In the early 90’s, J.N. Wells & company decided to develop the radio segment of the company which
became our primary focus. In 1995 American Communications Partners, Inc. was formed and since then we’ve completed numerous
transactions specializing in smaller and medium markets. Please see our Transactions page for a list of some of the deals we’ve participated in.
strategy
We take a pro-active role in the sale of your station from start to finish. Our process starts by performing comprehensive due diligence on the station and conducting a thorough market analysis. With this research completed, we're able to leverage our extensive industry network to find a qualified and suitable buyer. Once a buyer has been identified, we begin the negotiating process to help secure the best price for your station. After negotiations complete we assist the buyers, sellers and attorneys to ensure a smooth closing process.
We understand that selling a radio station or a group of stations can be an emotional experience, especially if the target company has been part of the local community for many years, and if is family owned and operated, we take this into consideration. Again we understand the importance of confidentiality and what it means to protect a buyer’s identity from the target stations personnel, competition and the community. Through successful practices we can assure all correspondence will remain private until a deal has been successfully negotiated.
